Gwen Stefani confirms ‘Make Me Like You’ is about beau Blake Shelton

Gwen Stefani is anything but shy about her relationship with country star Blake Shelton, admitting that her latest single “Make Me Like You†was inspired by her current beau.

The No Doubt frontwoman, who debuted the track with a live music video at Monday’s Grammy Awards, gave in to late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s prodding that the song was about falling for her “Voice†costar.

“It is, actually, yeah,†she said Tuesday after letting out a hearty laugh. “I will admit that that song is actually about that guy.â€

It’s not the first time the L.A.M.B. designer has turned to her love life for musical fodder: “Used to Love You,†the 46-year-old’s first single off her upcoming album, “This Is What Truth Feels Like,†was inspired by her marriage to rocker Gavin Rossdale, which ended over the summer.

“What’s so crazy is that sometimes tragedy, if you really absorb it, you can turn it into something beautiful. And this whole album is about trying to take something that’s awful and healing from it,†Stefani told Kimmel.

The blond star and Bush frontman announced their split in August after nearly 13 years of marriage. They wed in 2002 after six years of dating and have three sons together.

The singer also made history on Monday, debuting that four-minute live music video during a Grammy Awards commercial break.

“I can’t believe that happened. That was a trip,†she told Kimmel, noting that it had been in the works since Christmas and she had personally worked on it continuously for about six days.

She also wanted to clarify that it wasn’t her who took that gasp-inducing tumble in the video’s roller rink segment -- it was a double.

“I actually sort of know how to [skate] from when I was a kid,†Stefani said. “But there was a crash. Everybody thinks it was me, but that was a stunt double .... We did that on purpose so everybody would think, ‘Oh, my God, it’s live and she fell!’â€

Elsewhere in the video, a neon sign for a bar named “Blake’s†pops up, which is what led to Kimmel’s original line of questioning about the song and her relationship to the country singer. According to Entertainment Tonight, Shelton took home the set piece, posing for an Instagram photo carrying the musical memento, which is said to be modeled after his real signature.

The “Sangria†singer, who also had a high-profile divorce from Miranda Lambert over the summer, has been supporting his new girlfriend on social media.

“You can probably understand the multiple reasons why I just bought this,†he tweeted last week, referring to Stefani’s new album. “I hope you do to!!!â€
