‘Bachelorette’ Emily Maynard engaged to consultant Tyler Johnson
Emily Maynard, who’s been “The Bachelorette†and competed for the hand of “The Bachelor,†is engaged to a man who has nothing to do with the hit reality-TV franchise at all.
Management consultant Tyler Johnson proposed with five diamond-studded bands instead of the usual engagement ring, Us Weekly reports. And why not: Maynard has already been proposed to three times, so it couldn’t hurt to make it a little different.
(The late NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, father of Maynard’s daughter, Ricki, was the first; he was killed in a plane crash before Maynard learned she was pregnant. Then came “Bachelor†Brad Womack and “Bachelorette†winner Jef Hom. The latter two relationships ended just months after the cameras were gone.)
Maynard and Johnson actually met a few months before she did “The Bachelorette,†but they didn’t start dating until after she and Hom split, the mag said. She posted an Instagram photo of the two of them on New Year’s Eve, captioning it, “It’s going to be a good year.â€
Johnson proposed last Saturday.
“We’re really excited!!†Maynard told Us, referring to herself and her daughter. “He proposed to me at home and gave both Ricki and me rings. It was so sweet! Ricki loves him more than she likes me!â€
Watch for a wedding soon, she said. “No point in waiting!â€
