Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid are no more. The couple has called off their wedding, according to several reports out Tuesday.
The “Friends” alum and Snow Patrol guitarist have reportedly struggled as a couple for a long time and fought to make the relationship work, People and TMZ said.
Differing lifestyles contributed to the split, TMZ said, with Cox opting to go out with friends while McDaid preferred more low-key, private shindigs. Counseling didn’t work for the former pair, and the English rocker is said to have moved out of Cox’s Malibu and Los Angeles homes before Thanksgiving and headed back across the pond.
Cox, 51, and McDaid, 39, were first spotted out together in December 2013 after they were introduced by rocker Ed Sheeran, a friend of McDaid’s who lived at the “Cougar Town” star’s beach house for a while.
They dated for about six months before announcing their engagement in June 2014. McDaid popped the question at Jennifer Aniston’s L.A. home during Cox’s daughter Coco’s 10th birthday party, where he asked for permission to marry Cox.
“He gave her a little diamond ring and got on his knee,” Cox said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in September 2014. “And she said, ‘Great! I’m going to camp tomorrow. Let’s do it right now!’ ”
The former pair was last spotted out together over the summer at pal Aniston’s August wedding to “Leftovers” star Justin Theroux.
It would have been McDaid’s first marriage and the second for Cox, who previously was wed to Coco’s dad, actor David Arquette.
A rep for Cox did not immediately respond to The Times’ request for comment.
