Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner step out together amid divorce rumors

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner stepped out together on Thursday, and while that may not call for shining the Bat-Signal, it’s significant now because reports of a looming breakup have been swirling around the couple.

RadarOnline and several tabloids reported this week that the “Batman v Superman†star and “Alias†alum have been spending a lot of time apart and are likely headed for divorce.

The rumors, seemingly based on much observational speculation about their work schedules, have not been confirmed and reps for both actors did not immediately respond to The Times’ requests for comment. But Gawker started a divorce countdown anyway.

Affleck, 42, and Garner, 43, who are coming up on their 10-year anniversary on June 29, have been busy filming -- he’s been wrapped up with the trappings of his high-profile role as the Caped Crusader and she’s been shuttling back and forth to Montreal for the comedy “Nine Lives.†That’s aside from several occasions the two have been seen apart -- him gambling in Vegas, her lunching in Manhattan and them spending Mother’s Day and her birthday separately in April.

Bennifer 2.0 was photographed on Thursday walking together around their Brentwood neighborhood, according to Us Weekly and People, purporting that they were putting up a united front amid the rampant split speculation. They reportedly hadn’t been seen together in more than a month.

Later that day they were seen taking two of their three kids -- daughters Violet, 9, and Seraphina, 6 -- for frozen yogurt at Menchie’s in Santa Monica, People said. Son Sam, 3, was not there.

By Friday, RadarOnline reported that Affleck was angling for divorce and is “secretly consulting†attorneys to handle it. Insiders insisted that a separation statement was imminent too.
