Entering its sixth season, “Modern Family” remains a key component of the ABC schedule even if its ratings aren’t what they once were. Last year the average total audience slipped for the second straight year and stood just below 15 million viewers per week, including DVR viewing, according to Nielsen.
The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Seth Meyers, are being held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and the show is airing live on NBC.
