‘Disney Fairies’ beats ‘Magic Mike’ on DVD

Fairies are beating strippers in DVD sales

Walt Disney Studios’ new direct-to-DVD title “Disney Fairies: Secret of the Wings†was the No. 1-selling DVD and Blu-ray disc for the week ended Oct. 27, according to research firm Rentrak Corp.

It outperformed the Matthew McConaughey and Channing Tatum surprise box-office hit “Magic Mike,†which debuted at No. 2 on the sales charts.

Other new DVDs last week included “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter†and “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection,†which started at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.
