‘World War Z’ swarms DVD and Blu-ray sales and rental charts
The infection caused by “World War Z†has spread from the box office to home entertainment.
The apocalyptic zombie film starring Brad Pitt is the top-selling DVD and Blu-ray title in its first week in release, and it’s also the No. 1 rental.
The movie, based on the fictional oral history by Max Brooks, was a major summer hit for Paramount and director Marc Forster that generated more than $539 million at theaters worldwide.

Last week’s leader, “Star Trek Into Darkness,†directed by J.J. Abrams, fell to No. 2 on the sales chart, followed by “Now You See Me,†starring Jesse Eisenberg.
Also debuting on the sales chart were season sets of the television shows “Arrow†and “Grimm.â€
Here are the top titles for the week that ended Sept. 21 for sales and Sept. 22 for rentals, according to Rentrak.
