Fandango launches movie-themed channel on Hulu

Fandango said on Tuesday that it will launch its first subscription video-on-demand service on Hulu.

The nation’s largest movie ticket company said it will begin streaming multiple original video series during the first quarter of 2015. Fandango announced the news at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Fandango, which recently acquired movie content and trailers network MovieClips on YouTube, averages about 30-million unique guests per month.

Hulu, which is a joint venture of Disney, 21st Century Fox and Comcast’s NBCUniversal, is home to a vast library of content that includes programming from Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, TVLand, Spike, BET, Logo, FX and other networks.

The new Fandango channel, available to Hulu subscribers, will feature an awards-themed interview show called “FrontRunners,†hosted by the website’s chief correspondent, Dave Karger, a weekly movie recommendations series and other movie-focused programming.

“Our Hulu partnership helps us extend Fandango video content onto new platforms, meeting a growing demand for premium movie-related content among moviegoers and Hulu fans alike,†said Paul Yanover, Fandango’s president, in a statement.
