2017 Tony Awards: The complete list of winners and nominees

“Dear Evan Hansen†won the award for best musical at the 2017 Tony Awards, while “Oslo†was named best play.

All early signs pointed to “Dear Evan Hanson†winning the big musical prize of the night as it swept earlier categories including book, original score and orchestration. Star Ben Platt won for lead actor in a musical, while Rachel Bay Jones won for featured actress in a play.

The big surprises of the night came in the directing categories, with Rebecca Taichman and Christopher Ashley winning for play and musical, respectively.

Bette Midler and “Hello, Dolly!†were also among the night’s winners. “Jitney†won for revival of a play.
