‘Star Trek’s’ Zachary Quinto Broadway bound in ‘The Glass Menagerie’

Zachary Quinto is going from sci-fi to the stage.

Producers announced that Quinto, who stars as Spock in the “Star Trek†reboots, in September will make his Broadway debut in Tennessee Williams’ “The Glass Menagerie.â€

The actor, who recently starred in “Angels In America†off-Broadway, will play Tom alongside two-time Tony winner Cherry Jones as fading Southern belle Amanda Wingfield. Tony-winner John Tiffany (“Onceâ€) will direct.

American Repertory Theater’s production has seen success at smaller theaters and will transfer to Broadway for a 17-week run with performances starting Sept. 5. No theater has been announced.

Celia Keenan-Bolger (“Peter and the Starcatcherâ€) and Brian J. Smith (“The Columnistâ€) round up the four-person cast.

The Williams masterpiece debuted on the Great White Way in 1945 and was most recently seen in a 2005 production that starred Jessica Lange and Christian Slater.
