Oscars 2014: Idina Menzel sings Oscar-winning ‘Let It Go’ from ‘Frozen’

John Travolta mangled her name when he introduced her at the Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday -- “Adele Dazeem†-- but Idina Menzel nevertheless managed to perform a rousing rendition of the song “Let It Go†from the Disney animated movie “Frozen.â€

“Let It Go,†which was written by the husband-and-wife team of Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, won the Oscar for original song. It was the first Oscar for Lopez, who is an award-winning Broadway songwriter whose credits include “The Book of Mormon†and “Avenue Q.â€

Here’s a video of Menzel performing Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The Broadway actress is scheduled to begin performances of the new musical “If/Then†on Wednesday at the Richard Rodgers Theater in New York.

It will mark her first return to Broadway since “Wicked.â€

In “Frozen,†Menzel voiced the character of Elsa, joining other experienced stage actors including Josh Gad, Kristen Bell and Jonathan Groff in the snowbound story.

“Let It Go†beat out songs from the movies “Her,†“Despicable Me 2†and “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.â€
