Lil Uzi Vert, who had been surprised Tuesday by their inclusion in the Rolling Loud California lineup, has been removed as a headliner and replaced by the joint set comprising rapper Future and producer Metro Boomin, who now join the weekend festival’s other headliners, Nicki Minaj and Post Malone.

Future and Metro Boomin were added to the lineup Wednesday, according to a statement from Rolling Loud, unceremoniously replacing Lil Uzi Vert as the March 2024 hip-hop festival’s Sunday headliner.

The move came after the “XO Tour Llif3†and “Lucid Dreams†rapper, who has regularly performed with the roving fest, took to Instagram Stories after the original lineup announcement to express their confusion and to deny being involved in the upcoming event.

“I never said I was doing Rolling Loud,†the 28-year-old entertainer wrote over a now-expired photo of the lineup. “Don’t understand why my name is on here @rollingloud.â€

Rapper Lil Uzi Vert updated their pronouns on Instagram over the weekend to they/them shortly after dropping their new song, “Space Cadet.â€

Representatives for the rapper and the festival did not immediately respond Wednesday to The Times’ requests for comment.

But a news release and new poster went up Wednesday afternoon confirming the Future x Metro Boomin set.

The 2024 festival, which has also given rise to a streetwear business, will be hosted March 15-17 at Hollywood Park next to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. The Sunday lineup also includes Bryson Tiller, Don Toliver, Ski Mask the Slump God, Chief Keef, NLE Choppa, that Mexican OT, 310babii, Chase Shakur, Sukihana, Ryan Trey, Cash Cobain, Wolfacejoeyy and Rich Amiri.

Lil Uzi Vert previously took the Rolling Loud stage — although belatedly — during the 2019 installment when it set up shop at what is now BMO Stadium. “The Pink Tape†artist also played the 2023 fest in Inglewood last March, as well as editions in New York and Miami in recent years.

For the first time, Rolling Loud will be welcoming four regional Mexican artists to the stage including Junior H, Fuerza Regida, Natanael Cano and Chino Pacas.

The L.A.-area festival is part of Rolling Loud’s 2024 World Tour, which will include editions across several cities and continents. And, for the first time, the local fest will feature several regional Mexican groups, including Junior H, Fuerza Regida, Natanael Cano and Chino Pacas.
