‘American Idol’ host Ryan Seacrest sells gated Hollywood Hills West estate for $11 million
It took almost two seasons, but “American Idol†host Ryan Seacrest has sold his gated Hollywood Hills West estate for $11 million. It first came on the market in 2010 at $14.95 million.
The 10,000-square-foot Mediterranean, built in 1974, was remodeled during Seacrest’s ownership. The villa, which sits on nearly an acre of hilltop with canyon and city views, features a gym, a wine cellar and a screening room. Including the guest house, the property has six bedrooms and 61/2 bathrooms. There is a tennis court and a swimming pool.
Seacrest, 37, has hosted “American Idol†since 2002. He was a “Today†special correspondent during the 2012 London Olympics. His producing credits include “Shahs of Sunset†(2012), “Food Revolution†(2010) and “Keeping Up With the Kardashians†(2007-10).
He purchased the property from two-time Academy Award-winning filmmaker and actor Kevin Costner in 2006 for $11.5 million. Costner had bought the house from Oscar-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss in 1995 for $2.7 million.
Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency, Beverly Hills, was the listing agent. Linda May of Coldwell Banker’s Beverly Hills North office represented the buyer.
