Famed rocker Tommy Lee’s latest release may come from Calabasas. The drummer of Mötley Crüe fame has listed his home in a gated community for sale at $5.995 million.
Lee bought the property nearly a decade ago for $5.85 million and customized the house in true rock star fashion. Rich wood floors, wood-beamed ceilings and offbeat decor give the nearly 10,000 square feet of interiors an exotic feel. In the heart of the home, a custom two-story atrium with retractable roof, tall shoots of bamboo and a Koi pond furthers the tropical vibe.
Among living spaces are a formal living room, dining room with black-hued ceiling, home theater, library/office and wine room with a second kitchen. A wet bar and lounge sit off the atrium.
The master suite, with black walls and rows of mirrors, has a massive walk-in closet and a spa-like bath. Another bedroom rocks purple-patterned wallpaper and pink chandeliers. In all, there are five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.
But the real fun begins in the 3,000-square-foot garage, 2,000 square feet of which has been turned into a state-of-the-art recording studio, complete with two sound rooms.
Outdoors, grounds of nearly a third of an acre center on a piano-shaped swimming pool with raised spa and elephant-shaped waterfalls. Two patios, an outdoor fireplace and panoramic valley views complete the over-the-top setting.
