Ex-Bengal T.J. Houshmandzadeh is ready to field offers for Newport Coast home

Retired NFL wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh has put his home field in Newport Coast up for sale at $4.195 million.

The two-story Mediterranean home, built in 2006, sits on nearly a third of an acre in a guard-gated community.

Designed for entertaining, it features French doors that open to an outdoor living room and dining area. A cabana with a barbecue/bar, a fire pit and an infinity-edge swimming pool are among party-ready amenities. Elsewhere on the grounds is a basketball half-court.

Some 4,800 square feet of contemporary living space includes a two-story entry, a formal dining room, an office, a game room, five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The living room has a fireplace with a chrome surround, and the center-island kitchen is awash with red-tinted stone.

Houshmandzadeh, 40, bought the house in 2007 for $3.458 million, records show.

He played 10 seasons in the NFL for the Bengals, Seahawks, Ravens and Raiders. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2007 after catching 112 passes for 1,143 yards and 12 touchdowns.
