Michael Bay’s former mansion in Bel-Air goes for $41 million
The Bel-Air mansion that blockbuster filmmaker Michael Bay sold three years ago for $11.45 million has sold again for nearly four times that amount — $41 million.
After Bay sold the property in 2014, the Jack Warner-designed contemporary underwent an extensive renovation and was expanded to 15,000 square feet, or about double its original 7,919-square-foot footprint.
Features of the five-bedroom, nine-bathroom house include a designer-done kitchen, a wine room and a home theater. An indoor “wellness center” holds massage and steam rooms, a sauna and a gym. The master suite has dual baths and a private terrace.
Disappearing glass walls open the common areas to an expansive outdoor space and an infinity-edge swimming pool. Views from the nearly one-acre lot take in the Los Angeles Basin, Mt. Baldy and Santa Monica Bay.
The property had been listed for $45 million, records show.
James Harris and David Parnes of the Agency were the listing agents. Alexander Tarigo of Rodeo Realty represented the buyer.
Bay, 52, has served as producer or executive producer for the multiple “Transformers” films and the TV series “Jack Ryan,” “The Last Ship” and “Black Sales.”
Earlier this year another onetime Bay residence, a contemporary mansion in Montecito, sold for $7.2 million.
