A Los Feliz home owned by film actress Marilyn Devin has come on the market for $4.997 million.

Tucked behind walls and gates on a quarter acre of grounds, the Italianate Revival-style home was designed by architect Carleton M. Winslow and built nearly a century ago for English transplant and author William H.B. Kilner.

Stone steps lead past a landing with a fountain to a covered landing set behind decorative wrought iron gates. Inside, the four-bedroom, five-bathroom house retains the air of the Roaring ’20s with its delicate wainscoting, gold fixtures and grand formal areas.

Within nearly 5,700 square feet of interior space is a living room with a fireplace, a dining room, a library and a center-island kitchen. Walls of arched windows surround a solarium with Saltillo tile floors and a rolled ceiling. A garden level holds a prohibition-era wine cellar, a billiards room and an office.

Outdoors, tiled walkways lead through grounds filled with various terraces, sitting areas and fountains. In one part of the backyard, a waterfall feature flows into a koi pond.

Devin made her film debut in 1967, appearing alongside Chad Everett in the military drama “First to Fight.†Her other credits include “The Money Jungle†(1967) and “Tiger by the Tail†(1970).
