Ex-Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller prices Newport home at $5.25 million
NHL goaltender Jonas Hiller, formerly of the Anaheim Ducks, has listed his home in Newport Beach for sale at $5.25 million.
The custom residence, built in 2008, sits among a row of oceanfront homes in West Newport with a beach-facing patio, a rooftop deck and views extending from the coastline to Catalina Island.
Designed for indoor-outdoor entertaining, the tri-level floor plan features bi-folding doors, custom lighting and vaulted ceilings. The main floor has a chef’s kitchen, a breakfast bar and formal living room that opens onto the entertainer’s patio.
The second-floor master suite comes with a fireplace, an updated bath and a private balcony with unobstructed ocean views. An additional bedroom suite touts four built-in bunk beds and a private balcony. In all, the beach house counts three bedrooms and three full bathrooms in 2,283 square feet of living space.
Hiller, who signed a two-year, $9-million free agent contract with the Calgary Flames this off-season after seven seasons with the Ducks, paid $4 million for the custom residence in December 2010.
The 32-year-old Swiss native saw his playing time reduced last season with the presence of rookie backstops Frederik Anderson and John Gibson. An All-Star in 2011, he posted a .911 save percentage and 2.48 goals against average across 50 games in 2013-14.
Dana Roberts of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is the listing agent.
