JLo and A-Rod buy Jeremy Piven’s ‘fixer-upper’ home in Malibu
Jeremy Pivens’ Malibu beach house has drawn the eye of two fellow A-listers: Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez.
The power couple paid $6.6 million for the home and reportedly have big plans in store, according to sources who asked for anonymity because they are not authorized to comment on the deal. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Lopez described the property as “a little fixer-upper next to the water,†adding that for their second anniversary as a couple, Rodriguez recruited Joanna Gaines of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper†to help reimagine the place.
By any metric, the three-story beachfront abode still holds it own. Entered through an ivy-clad courtyard, the floorplan opens to 4,404 square feet of white walls and dark hardwood floors.
The main level features a sun-filled living room, dining area, chef’s kitchen and family room. Two sets of sliding glass doors open to a wraparound deck that holds a spa.
Upstairs, the master suite offers a private deck of its own, as well as a steam shower and sitting room. In total, there are four bedrooms and 3.25 bathrooms.
A theater rounds out the top floor, and down below, there’s an entertaining space with a wet bar and sauna. Past a covered patio, the space expands to 50 feet of sandy beach.
Madison Hildebrand and Jill Galloway of Compass held the listing. Carl Gambino of Westside Estate Agency represented the buyers, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
Lopez, 49, has enjoyed an iconic career as a musician and actress, selling roughly 80 million records worldwide and appearing in 34 films, including “Selena,†for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe.
Rodriguez, 43, was among the most dynamic players in baseball during his career, amassing 696 home runs and 3,115 hits across 22 seasons. His scores of accolades include 14 All-Star Game appearances, 10 Silver Slugger awards and two Gold Glove awards, as well as a World Series title with the Yankees in 2009.
Late last year, he put his architectural home in Hollywood Hills West up for sale at $6.5 million
The pair began dating two years ago.
