PGA’s Hunter Mahan prices O.C. golf course home at $1.8 million
Two-time World Golf champion Hunter Mahan has teed up his golf course home in Coto de Caza for sale at $1.799 million.
The Tuscan-style residence, built in 1999 and since remodeled, backs the 12th hole of the south course at the Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club and has greenbelt and water views. Entered through a circular foyer, the home features step-down living and dining rooms, a center-island kitchen, a family room with a fireplace, five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in 4,800 square feet.
The master suite sports his and her closets, dual vanities and a sitting area. A private balcony frames views of Old Saddleback.
Outdoors, landscaped grounds include an infinity pool, a barbecue area and a fire pit. An adjacent putting green completes the resort-like setting.
Mahan paid $1.52 million for the home in 2007, records show. He owns other property in the area.
Debra Kovacs of Century 21 Award is the listing agent.
Mahan, who has banked more than $29 million on tour for his career, captured his sixth PGA victory in August with a first-place finish at The Barclays. The 32-year-old previously won World Golf Championships at the 2010 Bridgestone Invitational and the 2012 Accenture Match Play Championship.
The golf pro and his wife made real estate headlines earlier this year when they put their custom home in Preston Hollow, Texas, on the market at $9.5 million. Still listed for sale, the 16,655-square-foot property counts a golf simulator, an indoor basketball half-court, a subterranean garage and multiple pools among its features, according to Candy Evans of Candy’s Dirt.
