It’s no myth: ‘Thor’s’ Chris Hemsworth keeps a foothold in Malibu
Some folks are bicoastal, this couple is bicontinental. Actors Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky, who call Australia home, have picked up a gated Malibu retreat for $3.45 million.
The 1979 Contemporary has a very different vibe from the Point Dume Victorian they listed for sale at $6.5 million.
Their new place is boxy with tall ceilings and long windows and doors. Rooms open to views of the mountains and ocean.
The decked-out kitchen features commercial-grade appliances, quartz counters and a 750-bottle refrigerated wine cellar. The open-plan space has polished concrete floors that open to a deck with a glass fireplace. There are terraced gardens and a yard.
The 4,600 square feet of living space includes a home theater/family room, four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and a powder room.
Hemsworth, 32, plays the mythological superhero Thor in the Marvel films and will star in “Thor: Ragnarok†next year. Among his other film credits are “The Cabin in the Woods†(2012), “Rush†(2013) and “Blackhat†(2015).
Pataky, 39, was in last year’s “Furious 7†as well as the two previous installments of the “Fast & Furious†franchise, “Fast & Furious 6†and “Fast Five.â€
Shen Schulz of Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent. Ryan Davis of John Aaroe Group represented the couple, who have a residence in Australia.
