Latin Grammy-winner Ana Bárbara finds a scenic spot in Benedict Canyon
Latin singer-songwriter Ana Bárbara has bought a home in the Beverly Crest area of Los Angeles for $1.87 million.
Surrounded by privacy walls and mature trees, the renovated two-story was designed for indoor-outdoor entertaining. Bi-folding doors and sets of casement windows bring the outdoors inside. A large deck with an outdoor dining area and a fire pit rests against the hillside.
Inside, the 2,600 square feet of space has a contemporary sheen with French ash floors, modern fixtures and gallery walls. A streamlined chef’s kitchen is replete with a wine chiller, Bauformat cabinetry and Vetrazzo counter tops.
Other spaces include a living room with a wall fireplace, a formal dining area, three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The master suite has a walk-in closet and a glass-enclosed shower.
The property came to market in May for $1.996 million and closed sale in about two months, records show. David Jaynes, a former All-American quarterback at Kansas, and Barbara Harris, the fifth wife of film actor Cary Grant, are among former occupants of the home.
The Altman brothers team, Josh and Matthew Altman, of Douglas Elliman were the listing agents. Christian Arbid of Power Brokers International represented the buyer.
Bárbara, 45, has released 11 studio albums and more than a dozen compilations. She won a Latin Grammy for her 2005 record â€Loca de Amar.â€
