Screenwriter Allan Loeb sells ocean-view penthouse in Venice for $3.6 million
Hollywood writer and producer Allan Loeb, who penned the screenplay for the upcoming film “The Space Between Us,†has sold his ocean-view space in Venice for $3.6 million.
The 2,300-square-foot penthouse in the Marina Peninsula area came on the market in November for $3.695 million and was pending in about a month, property records show. Loeb bought the unit four years ago for $2.75 million.
The two-story residence, built in 1974, was designed for indoor-outdoor living. Walls of windows and a pair of balconies take in views of the coastline and Venice Pier. The master suite has sliding glass doors that open to a rooftop lounge with a fire pit.
Inside, there’s a fireplace in the living room, an open chef’s kitchen with a breakfast bar, three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Polished concrete floors, modern fixtures and light wood cabinetry lend a contemporary yet coastal vibe to the living spaces.
Mark Kitching of Partners Trust was the listing agent. Peter Bergman of Gibson International repped the buyer.
Loeb, 47, last year wrote and produced the film “Collateral Beauty†starring Will Smith, Ed Norton and Kate Winslet. His other credits include “The Switch†(2010), “Just Go with It†(2011) and “Rock of Ages†(2012).
