Hot Property: Carole King ready to part with Idaho ranch she’s owned for more than 30 years

Carole King has some earth she’d like to move in Stanley, Idaho. The singer-songwriter, who penned the early ‘70s hit “I Feel the Earth Move,†has her Robinson Bar Ranch for sale at $9.9 million.

Set within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, the 128-acre spread has belonged to King for more than three decades.

At the heart of the property is a restored two-story log lodge overlooking a creek. A detached recording studio, a caretaker’s house, guest cabins, equestrian facilities and a greenhouse are among other structures.

Geothermal springs on the ranch provide hot water for two pools and produce the radiant heat used in the lodge and studio.

The 7,337-square-foot lodge features living and dining rooms, a den/office, a commercial-grade kitchen, five bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two stone fireplaces can be used to augment the radiant heat.

The caretaker’s residence has 1,825 square feet of living space with three bedrooms, one full bathroom and two powder rooms. Features include a wood-burning fireplace, an exposed beam ceiling and a large deck.

Another house contains 2,046 square feet of interior space with two bedrooms and a bathroom.

The recording studio has a guest apartment on the second floor with a kitchenette and a bathroom. There are also eight seasonal log cabins.

Equestrian facilities include a new horse barn with six stalls and historic ranch buildings used for equipment storage.

King, 73, first gained fame in the 1960s writing songs for others. Her own 1971 album “Tapestry†catapulted her to stardom. She won Grammy Awards that year for that album and the hits “It’s Too Late†and “You’ve Got a Friend.â€

A home away from Hollywood

Actors Emily Blunt and John Krasinski have put their country home in Ojai on the market at $4.25 million.

The stately 4,177-square-foot main house, custom built in 1982, has a portico entry, a gabled roof and dormer windows. Family and dining rooms, a breakfast room, four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms are among the living spaces. There are four fireplaces.

The more than 5-acre property takes in views of the surrounding hillsides and mountains. Solar power and a swimming pool with a spa are among the amenities.

Blunt, 32, has starred in such films as this year’s “Sicario,†“Edge of Tomorrow†(2014) and “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen†(2011). Look for her next year in “The Girl on the Train†and “The Huntsman.â€

Krasinski, 36, starred on the comedy series “The Office†from 2005 to 2013. This year he was in the movie “Aloha†with Bradley Cooper.

The couple paid $2.15 million for the getaway three years ago.

A buyer would make him happy

Singer-songwriter-producer Pharrell Williams has put his Miami penthouse back up for sale at $10.999 million.

The two-story residence, fancifully decorated with cartoon characters, has rounded walls of windows that take in 360-degree views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Miami cityscape.

The open-plan living space is topped by a translucent dome and a 30-foot ceiling. A home theater, a loft billiard room, a family room/study, an atrium, five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms are also among the features in 9,080 square feet of space.

A rooftop deck with a swimming pool and wraparound terraces add 5,000 square feet of space.

Pharrell, who goes by the single name, had listed the 40th-floor unit last year for $16.8 million. He paid $12.525 million for the residence, built in 1993, eight years ago.

The 11-time Grammy Award winner, 42, has had such mega-hits as the single “Happy†from the animated movie “Despicable Me 2.â€

Couple simplifying their life

Fashion designer/reality television star Nicole Richie and singer Joel Madden have sold their compound in Hollywood Hills for $2.67 million.

Their more than one-third of an acre property sits behind gates and walls. The main house was built in 1914 and has been extensively remodeled.

A massive skylight dome tops the 6,300 square feet of living space. An office, an atrium, a gym, a den, a family room, five bedrooms and six bathrooms are within the multilevel interiors. There is an attached guesthouse with access to the backyard.

The kitchen opens to a dining courtyard with a barbecue area. The lagoon-style pool has a beach entry and a waterfall spa.

Richie, 34, is executive producer and star of her own series “Candidly Nicole.†She was on the reality series “The Simple Life†(2003-07).

Madden, 36, is a vocalist with the pop-punk band Good Charlotte and the Madden Brothers. He is also an actor and record producer.

The property previously changed hands six years ago for $1.912 million.

A splashdown in Sherman Oaks

Bret Harrison of “The Astronaut Wives Club†has bought a home in Sherman Oaks for $1.585 million, public records show.

The Cape Cod-inspired two-story home, built this year, has wide plank floors and wainscoting. Living and family rooms, a gym, a library/study, five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and a powder room are included in some 3,750 square feet of interior space. The kitchen features a center island, white cabinetry, granite counters and stainless-steel appliances.

Harrison, 33, was also in “Breaking In†(2011-12), “V†(2011) and “Reaper†(2007-09). He plays guitar for the indie-rock group Big Japan.

The property had been listed at $1.595 million.
