Jones Lang LaSalle acquires office management firm Means Knaus
Commercial real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle has taken over management of some of the most prominent office buildings in Southern California with the acquisition of competitor Means Knaus Partners.
Among the properties now managed by Jones Lang LaSalle are downtown Los Angeles skyscrapers Aon Center and One California Plaza, two of the tallest buildings in the region at 62 stories and 42 stories, respectively.
By acquiring Houston-based Means Knaus Partners for an unspecified price, Jones Lang LaSalle added 16 million square feet in 80 buildings to the portfolio of property it manages for landlords.
In addition to eight office buildings in Los Angeles and Orange counties, Jones Lang LaSalle also took over Means Knaus-managed properties in Chicago; Dallas; Denver; Houston; Orlando, Fla.; and Tampa, Fla.

Means Knaus’ 100 employees now work for Jones Lang LaSalle, which is based in Chicago. Doug Knaus, former chief executive of Means Knaus, took the title of international director at Jones Lang LaSalle.
“The acquisition of MKP is highly strategic to the continued growth of our property management business,†said Dan Pufunt, president of property management for Jones Lang LaSalle.
The other Southern California office buildings Jones Lang LaSalle took over managing include Wilshire Grand at 600 Wilshire Blvd. in downtown L.A. Also now in the fold in Los Angeles are 10351 and 12304 Santa Monica Blvd. on the city’s Westside and 2706 Media Center Drive in the L.A. Media Tech Center near Glendale.
In the Orange County city of Lake Forest, Jones Lang LaSalle took over management of 26210 and 26220 Enterprise Way.
