You don’t have to be a celebrity to buy a Paul Revere Williams-designed house, but many generations of them have.
Among those who have lived in his homes are actors Marlon Brando, David Carradine and Lon Chaney, actresses Zsa Zsa Gabor, Anne Heche and Julie London and singers Frank Sinatra, Helen Redding and Joey McIntyre.
A star architect to celebrities
The home Williams designed for Bert Lahr of “The Wizard of Oz†fame is for sale at $25.58 million. The eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom estate encompasses 1.4 acres in the 90210 ZIP Code. The East Coast-inspired exterior and vaulted living room ceiling are classic Williams touches. Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker’s Beverly Hills South office has the listing.
A 1931 Traditional-style house Williams designed is on the market in Hancock Park at $3.6 million. Signature details include a large entry foyer, well-proportioned rooms and a sun room. There are five bedrooms, six bathrooms and 5,023 square feet of living space. The grounds feature formal gardens, brick patios, a swimming pool and a pool house. Gregory J. Moesser of Sotheby’s International Realty is the listing agent.
