Google is bringing its Siri competitor to its iOS app

Google is bringing an enhanced version of Voice Search, a Siri competitor, to its iOS app in just a few days, the company announced Wednesday,
Although Voice Search has been a part of Google’s iOS app for some time now, the company beefed up the feature on its Android phones this summer when it introduced Google Now at the unveiling of Jelly Bean, the latest version of its Android operating system.
The enhanced version of Voice Search functions very much like its competitor, the Apple iPhone 4S’ Siri, and arguably outperforms it.
The new feature will likely come as an update for the Google app, which you can already download, according to 9 to 5 Mac.
Voice Search on iOS will be able to find map information, weather results, and information on individual people and topics from the Google Knowledge Graph.
“In the latest version of the Google Search App for iOS and Android, not only can you say your question out loud, but your search app can speak your answer right back to you,” the company said in a YouTube post.
The news was part of a larger announcement Wednesday involving the entirety of Google’s search service.
