‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ advance tickets now on sale

Fans of Suzanne Collins’ trilogy “The Hunger Games” have to wait until late November to see the second installment in its film adaptation, but at least they can secure their spots: Advance tickets for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” are now on sale.
“The Hunger Games” is the bestselling dystopia written for young adults that has been translated spectacularly to the screen, with Jennifer Lawrence as the underdog heroine Katniss Everdeen.
Readers of “Catching Fire” know they can expect to see Katniss and her sort-of-beau Peeta Mellark tour the districts of their dystopian world, and discover that a dangerous rebellion is stirring. They will also be drawn back into another edition of the Hunger Games, in which previous champions of the deathly game are forced to fight one another.
People who go to see the film can know pretty much what to expect in terms of the plot. After all, it’s readily available in the book, published in 2009. But the outcry after the “Red Wedding” episode of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” showed that some fans will never turn to the originals, preferring to watch a story instead of reading.
That’s too bad. Wouldn’t you rather get inside Katniss’ head as she is torn between Peeta and Gale?
