Dermot Mulroney: Where you’ve seen him
Dermot Mulroney is well known for his string of romantic comedies: “My Best Friend’s Wedding,†“The Wedding Date,†“Must Love Dogs†and “The Family Stone.†Other notable films include: “About Schmidtâ€; “Longtime Companionâ€; “Young Guns†and the hilarious send-up of indie moviemaking, “Living in Oblivion.†“One that means a lot to me that I saw recently because the director passed away — Marc Rocco directed ‘Where the Day Takes You.’ Hollywood street kids who gang together and make their own family, with this incredible cast — Lara Flynn Boyle, James Le Gros, Ricki Lake, Laura San Giacomo, Kyle MacLachlan, Stephen Tobolowsky, Balthazar Getty. It had a remarkable effect on some young people. It’s an archive of Hollywood Boulevard before everything changed. The final shot shows where the Hollywood and Highland complex would be — it’s a flat parking lot.â€
