Welcome Back Monarchs Day
When, where: Oct. 10, Natural Bridges State Beach
Highlights: 10-10-10 at 10 a.m. marks the 30th anniversary of this event, the celebration of the return of Santa Cruz’s migratory monarch butterflies. Festivities include kids’ activities, handmade “monarch” (pumpkin) ice cream, educational booths and instruction about how to create a butterfly garden.

Art & Pumpkin Festival

Historical Haunted Walking Tour
When, where: Oct. 21 and 22, meet at Moody’s Bistro & Lounge
Highlights: During this second annual event, guides lead visitors (ages 21 and older) through spooky places, including the Old Jail Museum and the Richardson House, while regaling attendees with historic lore.
