Carlos Ruiz Zafón This Spanish novelist has been living in Los Angeles for more than a decade, but his work reaches far and wide, with millions of copies in 45 countries and 30 languages. His latest book, “The Angel’s Game,” follows a struggling pulp-fiction writer. Zafón will discuss fiction in a global age with moderator Rick Kleffel. Friday the 13th Part 3 Comedian Doug Benson hosts this special screening, part of the Cinefamily’s Comedy Death-Ray series. Benson and special guest Larry Zerner, who played the doomed nerd Shelly in this third installment of the famous horror franchise, will provide insightful commentary and humorous banter during the film. The Like This sassy, all-girl quartet has been on the L.A. scene since its members were tender teens in 2001. Now in the midst of a monthlong residency at the Echo, the band will treat fans to sassy pop rock retro-stylings that include swirling Farfisa and Shirelles-styled vocals. An Evening With Heart The sisters Wilson were one of the hardest-rocking bands of the ‘70s and ‘80s yet also one of the most melodic and evocative.
