West: BYU’s Harvey Unga leads win over Colorado State

at No. 19 Brigham Young 42, Colorado State 23: Harvey Unga ran for 113 yards and three touchdowns, and the Cougars (3-1, 1-0) converted two interceptions and a blocked punt into scores while holding off the Rams (3-1, 0-1) in a Mountain West Conference game. Max Hall passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Cougars (3-1) won their conference opener one week after getting blown out at home by Florida State.
at Air Force 26, San Diego State 14: Reggie Rembert returned a fumble 47 yards for a score, the first of two defensive touchdowns to lead the Falcons (3-1, 2-0) over the Aztecs (1-3, 0-1) in a Mountain West game.
at Wyoming 30, Nevada Las Vegas 27: Freshman Austyn Carta-Samuels threw three touchdown passes in his first start to lead the Cowboys (2-2, 1-0) over the Rebels (2-2, 0-1) in a Mountain West game.
at New Mexico State 20, New Mexico 17: Jeff Fleming hit Marcus Anderson with a four-yard touchdown pass with 39 seconds left to rally the Aggies (2-2) over the Lobos (0-4).
at Utah State 53, Southern Utah 34: Running back Robert Turbin ran for 106 yards, caught four passes for 116 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Aggies (1-2) over the Thunderbirds (1-3).
at San Jose State 19, Cal Poly SLO 9: Lamon Muldrow rushed for a career-high 184 yards to lead the Spartans (1-3) over the Mustangs (1-2).
In games involving Southland teams: Chris Brown rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns to lead Azusa Pacific (1-4) to a 23-7 win over visiting Wisconsin Stevens Point (1-2). . . . Andrew Durant threw two touchdown passes to lead host Whitworth (2-2) to a 23-8 victory over Chapman (1-1). . . . Nick Ruhl passed for 361 yards and three touchdowns to lead Menlo (1-3) to a 28-24 win over host Whittier (1-1).
