Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 79-year-old woman in the 6300 block of Gotham Street.
Bell Gardens police, responding to a 911 call, found the woman and an injured adult male believed to be her son. The woman, who authorities say had sustained blunt-force trauma, died at the scene. The man, whose name was not released, had what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds and was taken to a hospital.
