Journalist Roxana Saberi’s first time back to her hometown since she was released from an Iranian prison left her fighting back tears as she thanked well-wishers who met her at the Fargo airport.
When it was her turn to speak, Saberi struggled keep her composure. “It’s the first time I’ve really cried in public,†she said.
Saberi was arrested Jan. 31 and charged with spying for the U.S. The U.S denied the charges. After a legal fight, she was released May 11.
