A Los Angeles County grand jury is examining evidence in the 1985 disappearance of a couple who rented a guest house to a man now considered a person of interest in the case, according to two handwriting experts who have received subpoenas.
The man, whose real name is Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter, was arrested last summer in Boston under the name Clark Rockefeller for allegedly kidnapping his daughter. He has become the focus of a probe into the disappearance of Jonathan and Linda Sohus.
Authorities twice have dug up the backyard of the house searching for their bodies. Gerhartsreiter has denied involvement in the disappearances.
