A heart attack caused the death of a Continental Airlines pilot who died June 18 on a trans-Atlantic flight from Brussels to New Jersey, an autopsy found.
When Capt. Craig Lenell Sr., 60, suffered a midflight heart attack, two copilots took the controls of Flight 61 and safely landed the Boeing 777 at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Lenell’s family has said they were unaware of any heart condition.
