Coyotes’ 2-1 victory sends Sharks to fifth straight loss

Glendale, Ariz. — Radim Vrbata and Robert Lang scored, and the Phoenix Coyotes beat the Western Conference-leading San Jose Sharks, 2-1, on Saturday night, extending the Sharks’ season-worst losing streak to five games.
Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 37 shots for the Coyotes, who have won six of seven to climb into sixth place in the conference.
With Phoenix leading 2-0 late in the third, San Jose got a goal from Dany Heatley while on a a 4-on-3 advantage; Heatley beat Bryzgalov from the left circle at 14:39.
The Sharks poured on more pressure in the final minutes but couldn’t beat Bryzgalov again.
