‘Duplicity’

One of the best things about “Duplicity,” and there are quite a few things to like in this double-triple-quadruple cross corporate-intrigue caper, is seeing Julia Roberts back in a big way. To borrow a phrase from the “Dog Whisperer’s” Cesar Millan -- you just have to own the space. And when it comes to the big screen, Roberts does exactly that. As devilishly handsome as the seductive Clive Owen is, when Roberts is in the frame it’s hard to look anywhere else, and sometimes that’s a problem. But the payoff, and it’s a big one, is getting to see the many faces of Roberts -- tough, shrewd, funny, smart, sexy, tender -- this is an actress at the top of her game, even when writer-director Tony Gilroy stumbles.
