Comic Hughley gets a CNN show

Taking a page from the Comedy Central playbook, CNN said Wednesday it will introduce a weekend show in which comedian D.L. Hughley comments on news events. Like “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart,” it will feature commentary on politics and pop culture, plus interviews with “newsmakers and the reporters who cover them.”
“D.L. is a news junkie who is bursting with things to say about what is going on in the world -- most of them funny, all of them thoughtful, none of them predictable,” said Jon Klein, president of CNN/U.S. “When you watch as much news as our audience does, there comes a time you just want to stop and laugh.”
“D.L. Hughley Breaks the News” will air Saturdays at 7 p.m., with a repeat Sundays at 7 p.m., beginning Oct. 25.
