Giants’ Lincecum earns seventh win

PHOENIX -- Bengie Molina and Jose Castillo homered to help Tim Lincecum earn his seventh victory in the San Francisco Giants’ 6-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night.

Lincecum (7-1), with a fastball that reached 98 mph, gave up three runs and six hits in 7 1/3 innings. The 23-year-old right-hander struck out seven, walked three and improved to 3-0 in his last four starts.

Molina hit a three-run homer in the third inning and Castillo a 422-foot drive in the fourth -- each against starter Dan Haren (5-4). Brian Wilson threw a perfect ninth for his 15th save, tying Houston’s Jose Valverde for the National League lead.

Molina’s sixth homer put the Giants ahead, 3-0. Fred Lewis led off the inning with a single, then Ray Durham walked. After Randy Winn flied out, Molina hit Haren’s 1-and-2 pitch into the left-field seats.

Arizona broke through with a run against Lincecum in the fifth inning. Jeff Salazar drew a one-out walk, took second on Haren’s groundout and scored when Chris Young singled off the glove of second baseman Durham.
