A quiet option in Bangkok

Regarding “Heaven, Half Off,” March 23: Bangkok has one serious downside: horrific street noise. For this reason, I strongly feel that the best hotel there is the Siam InterContinental, which sits on 26 acres. All rooms are well away from the streets, and the hotel restaurants are excellent. Its weekly evening outdoor Thai barbecue is something you don’t want to miss.
