The city will pay $200,000 to end a sexual harassment claim against its first deputy mayor.
City officials have agreed to settle the claim filed in Fresno County Superior Court by a former temporary employee who says she was harassed while working for Roger Montero.
Karen Boquist says her ex-boss called her “love” and “sweetie” at the office, and told her about being sexually aroused after a dinner date.
Montero resigned last April after City Manager Andy Souza said he would otherwise be fired for creating a hostile workplace environment.
