Chase to get award for TV work

David Chase, creator of “The Sopranos,” will be given a lifetime achievement award by the Writers Guild of America, West.
Chase, who previously worked on such series as “The Rockford Files,” “I’ll Fly Away” and “Northern Exposure,” will be presented with the guild’s Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television at a luncheon to be held April 23 in Los Angeles.
The night before, Chase will talk about his career at a public event sponsored by the Writers Guild Foundation, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Writers Guild Theater, 135 S. Doheny Drive, Beverly Hills. Tickets are $20. Information: (323) 782-4692 or www.wgafoundation.org.
