The Philippines has arrested two Arab militants believed to be planning to bomb embassies of the United States, Britain and Israel in the capital, Manila, government officials said.
The two men were picked up last month on the southern island of Mindanao, said Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, senior Cabinet member.
Police and army intelligence authorities said one of them was holding a Jordanian travel document, but their identities had not been determined.
“We found documents showing plots to bomb several embassies in Manila,” said a police intelligence official, who declined to be named.
