Shedding light on energy savings

That’s a good article about reducing the energy loads in a house. (“Shrink your energy footprint,” Feb. 24.)
One thing you might have included is the latest technology in LED lighting. Recently, I installed 15 various types of LED lights in my home. I use LED floodlights for regional and indirect lighting, spherical (with clear diffusers) for hallway recessed light fixtures and two high-intensity LED floods for lighting my family room.
I can illuminate the entire interior to a comfortable level for just under 50 watts. Not too bad for a $300 investment. Plus they have a 100,000-hour life expectancy.
