Richard Sambora, the 48-year-old lead guitarist for rock band Bon Jovi, was convicted Tuesday of driving under the influence, a month after police saw his Hummer driving erratically on South Coast Highway in his hometown of Laguna Beach.
The musician pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence and was sentenced to alcohol awareness classes and three years’ probation, during which he must abstain from alcohol and drugs.
The Orange County district attorney’s office says Sambora had been driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.13%.
