Shooting victim is identified by police

A man who was shot and killed over the weekend was identified Monday as Rogelio Borjas Briseno, police said.
Officers responding to a shots fired call about 2:45 p.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of West La Verne Avenue found Briseno, 35, of Santa Ana with a gunshot wound, police said. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he later died.
Police have no information about the assailants, who fled in an unidentified vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call (714) 245-8665.
