‘Landscape Bandit’ is sought in three heists

A bank robber described Thursday as heavyset, favoring sun hats and glasses and smelling of dirt is being sought by police.
The “Landscape Bandit” robbed three banks -- in Newport Beach, Fullerton and Anaheim -- during the last three months, authorities said. In each heist, he has quietly handed bank tellers notes asking for money and stowed the cash in a black bag.
The robber is described as a dark-haired, light-skinned man about 5 feet 7, 200 pounds and between 35 and 40 years old. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (714) 765-1955.
