Re “Senators aim stiff criticism at Gonzales,” April 20

When it is so clear that the White House was involved in these firings, why is so little attention paid to the roles of Karl Rove and the president? It seems that there is a gentleman’s agreement among all concerned to accept the head of the attorney general as sufficient political payment for this episode.
