Pyatt’s overtime goal lifts Canucks past Stars, 2-1

Taylor Pyatt scored 7:47 into overtime and the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Dallas Stars, 2-1, Sunday at Dallas to take a 2-1 lead in their first-round Western Conference playoff series.
Pyatt’s goal came off a pass from former King Bryan Smolinski and gave Vancouver its second win in overtime in the series.
The Canucks won the opener, 5-4, in four overtimes.
Coming off his first career playoff shutout in Game 2, Stars goaltender Marty Turco held the Canucks scoreless until Jan Bulis popped in a rebound early in the third period.
Turco fell to 1-9 in postseason overtime games. The Stars have lost five consecutive playoff games at home.
Detroit 3, Calgary 1 -- Pavel Datsyuk and Nicklas Lidstrom scored within the first four minutes and the host Red Wings took a 2-0 lead in their first-round series.
Games 3 and 4 are in Calgary, where the Flames won a league-best 30 home games.
Dion Phaneuf scored early in the second period for Calgary, which was outshot, 51-15.
Rookie Valtteri Filppula scored six minutes into the third period for Detroit’s final goal.
Ottawa 4, Pittsburgh 2 -- Daniel Alfredsson scored twice in the second period and the visiting Senators took a 2-1 lead in the series.
